Overall

2101 E Colonial Drive

Loving Hut is a chain restaurant across North America, so you may already be familiar with it. This Loving Hut is very similar to the rest.

Boasting different Asian style cuisines, the food is made quickly in an order-at-the-counter type of set up. Prices are inexpensive and the decor is extremely casual. Loving Hut is perfect for a stop in if you’re looking for a quick bite. Everything on the menu is vegan, which is also really nice. Items that are gluten free or gluten free optional are clearly marked. wpid-2015-07-13-03.08.56-1.jpg.jpeg

Unfortunately,  I wasn’t too impressed with the service at this location. I found the staff to be uninterested in helping the customer for the most part. I did, however, appreciate them automatically making a new meal for me after they had brought the wrong order.

I ordered the Lemongrass Tofu, sans peanuts – it was the gluten free option. It tasted alright, but not anything I’d rave about. I have had much better dishes at Loving Hut in the past and would definitely recommend a pad thai or soup dish over this one. The actual tofu pieces tasted incredible and were spiced perfectly. What I didn’t love, was that the noodles were not seasoned in the same way. Instead, they came with a sauce on the side reminiscent of a sweet chilli sauce I could have purchased at the local grocery store. Had the whole dish been seasoned with the lemongrass seasoning, I would have thoroughly enjoyed this dish more.

*Note: At other Loving Hut locations, the pad thai that I’ve tried has been delicious.

Positives
Gluten free options, fully vegan, free parking
Negatives
Poor service, food inconsistent among dishes - some better than others.
